The Drive

Bob & Carol Boyd planned this event. Everyone met at the Walmart parking lot and from there caravaned to the Metalcraft tools shop near Stone High School. Metalcraft Tools specializes in metal working tools & education programs for builders of custom cars. We were given a lengthy tour of their facilities and a review of their programs. It was a truly fascinating tour. See their web site at www.metalcrafttools.com.

Following the shop tour we drove a back road route to Bill & Carol's "estate" at Dripping Springs for an informal meeting, a BBQ lunch and some tire kicking. The BBQ & iced tea will be provided by our hosts. . It was a great afternoon as we dug through the Boyd's "collection" of LBCs.

We need some photos from the BB-B-Q.
While we intended to continue to the Crossville Cruise-in, the tour, the drive and great food were enough for one day and we packed it in.

Kirk Chevrolet Car Show

Denny & Mary Jo Burmeister managed our club's participation in the Kirk Chevrolet car show. The show had approx. 80 cars entered, not a big turn-out, partly because of the heat and partly due to a competing auto show in Harriman. Denny and Mary Jo's A-H 3000 won one of the Best of Show awards. Ray & Mari Leedy were there with their 70 Jag (and their hot-dog stand). Their Jag placed 11th overall and won them a trophy.

There were four members from our club there - however two of them did not bring their cars. I believe Ted & Angela Welch came without their car and Rick & Doris Cashbaugh came without their car.
