monthly cruise-in was a special event this month for a couple of
reasons: 1st, there was a sanctioned competitive BBQ and , 2nd,
two ofther Brit Car Clubs joined us so we could hold our own against
those Detroit Iron cars. We displayed 9 Brit cars from our club
plus another 7 from Knoxville EAS and Blount British Cars. Oh yes,
we also had a Mercedes 380SL. However we christened with the nonorary
title of Austin Bug Eye Sprite. The owners don't know that yet.
In all about 200 cars showed up, making for a great day in spite
of the 100°+ weather. And many thanks to Laurence & Janice
Vooght for the great photos. Pat and I forgot our camera.
the Knoxville EAS held their April European Auto Show. The April
one was postponed due to forecasted severe weather. However it turned
out to be a sunshiny day. So when it was rescheduled for July 31,
no amount of dire weather forecasts would cause a cancellation.
And so it rained - and rained - and poured! While several PBCCTN
members attended, there were far more members than cars.
